FAQ

Guess the Player questions

How does Guess the Football Player work?

One NFL player a day and 15 guesses at it. You open with the era, a single fact and one free example. Miss 4 and the city appears; miss 7 and you get one more exact fact plus the option to just be told. Every guess you submit lays down a full comparison row — deep green exact, green close, gold similar.

What do the feedback clues mean?

A quarterback and a cornerback have no honest column in common, so each day picks one group — Quarterbacks, Rushers, Receivers, Front seven or Secondary — and compares only inside it. The board tells you which group is live, then lines your guess up against the mystery player's real signature season. Deep green means exact, green close, gold similar, and an arrow says higher, lower, later or earlier.

Who can the answer be in Guess the Football Player?

Established NFL names — the players a fan of the era would recognise, from the modern game back through the pre-merger years. Curated on purpose, so a fringe roster body is never the answer.

When does the daily player reset?

Midnight Eastern, one player for everybody. That is what makes an NFL streak worth comparing — you and the person you are arguing with got the same board.

What is shown on each player card?

One real signature season: the position, the city and years, and the numbers that season actually produced, plus league leads and honours where the record has them. Never a rating.
